In 2024, COSECSA, in collaboration with Operation Smile Inc, is offering a scholarship program for the Final FCS Examination in Plastic Surgery. The aim is to enhance the provision of high-quality cleft and plastic
surgery care in underserved regions of Sub-Saharan Africa by supporting plastic surgeons in completing the COSECSA training program through examination.
Administration of the scholarship will be handled by the COSECSA Secretariat.

Who can apply?
· Final-year COSECSA FCS Plastic Surgery trainees.
· Qualified Plastic surgeons in COSECSA-accredited hospitals seeking the COSECSA FCS qualification through examination in 2024.
What does this scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers program entry (enrolment), fellowship (FCS) examination fees, and graduation fees.
Note: Fees already paid to COSECSA by trainees cannot be reclaimed.
How to Apply
Prospective applicants must:
· Submit a personal statement outlining expected outcomes and an updated CV.
· Provide a letter of support from the Surgical Training Programme Director of the COSECSA-accredited hospital where the trainee is undergoing training.
· Include an acceptance letter from a COSECSA-accredited training facility.
· Secure a training post and, if necessary, obtain a work permit for training abroad.
· Have applied for Program Entry with COSECSA and received approval.

Scholarship Details:
Ten academic scholarships are available, each valued at $2,100.
